Bitumen emulsions is
a kind of liquid bitumen materials and consist of bitumen, water and emulsifier.
The diameters of the particles of the bitumen range from 1ì to 10ì in the
water (which is the dessolver).
1. They have good adhesion to all kind of beds of rock.
2. They can be used in wet surfaces because the imulsifiers act like antihydrophilic
materials.
3. They can be stored for longer periods of time.
Type KE-1 Bitumen emulsion, rapid setting, low viscosity, percentage in bitumen 55-60%. Suitable for tack coat, surface treatments and soaking of aggregate.
Type KE-2 Bitumen emulsion, rapid setting, high viscosity, percentage in bitumen 55-60%. Suitable for seal coattings, surface treatments and soaking of aggregate when lower viscosity of imulsion is demanded.
Type KE-3 Bitumen emulsion, medium setting, low viscosity, percentage in bitumen 55-60%. Suitable for direct laying.
Type KE-4 Bitumen emulsion, medium setting, low viscosity, percentage in bitumen 55-60%. Suitable for open type bitumen mixtures that can be stored for long time.
Type KE-5 Bitumen emulsion, medium setting, low viscosity, percentage in bitumen 35-60%. Suitable for prime coat of bases and aggregate premixings for surface treatments.
